A seminar on “Conservation and Sustainable Use of the Genetic Resources of Cultivated Plants” was held on 25 September 2026 at the Agdash Scientific Research Base of the Genetic Resources Institute, Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The event was attended by local farmers and final-year students majoring in Agronomy at Agdash State Humanitarian College.

The seminar focused on the conservation of plant genetic diversity, protection of local plant varieties, the importance of seed production and breeding, and the sustainable use of genetic resources in agriculture.

The Head of the Agdash Scientific Research Base, Mabud Rasulov, met with the students and emphasized the importance of combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience. The students were informed about the activities and research areas of the Base, as well as modern approaches used in agriculture.

The event also provided an opportunity for discussions with farmers on the sustainable use of plant genetic resources under local conditions.
