Genetic Resources Institute (GRE) of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) has held a commemoration event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy.
First the memory of the victims was remembered with a minute of silence.
Addressing the event director of the institute, corresponding member of ANAS Zeynal Akperov told about destruction of the city by Armenian military units over one night, heavy consequensies of this crime against Azerbaijani nation and murder of civilians with special cruelty.
He underlined the necissity for the young generation to remember this bloody event in Azerbaijani history.
Then Senior Scientific Researcher of the Department of Technology of the institute native of Khojaly Akpar Kerimov highlighted that he was a witness of this event and told about cruel murder of some of his relatives by Armenians.
The event featured a video reflecting the Khojaly genocide. \
